How much water does the Ficus elastica need?
The Elastica needs an average amount of water. Exactly how much water you need to give depends on where your plant is located, how much light falls on that location, how humid the air is around the plant, how big the plant is and what kind of pot the plant is in. That is why it is always best to check with your finger.
Plants with an average thirst may dry out up to 50%. Stick your finger in the soil (or use a water meter), do you feel wetness before you reach the center of the pot? Then it is best to wait a while before watering again.
How much light does the Ficus elastica need?
This plant likes a lot of indirect light up to full sun. That is why the best place for this plant is near a window facing the South, East or West.
How often should the Ficus elastica be fed?
It is best to only feed the Elastica when you see that it is in active growth. This is the case when new, young leaves keep appearing. Usually this happens in the warmer months of the year but with some plants, depending on their situation, it can be all year round.
